CAI Install, draining coolant?
I just got my AEM V2 and Im raeding over the installation manual and it says that you have to drain 1 gallon of coolant.
1. Where does this get drained, is it drained from one of the lines I have to pull?
2. And is it necessary to drain that much coolant?

Don't worry about draining the coolant. You'll need to replace a section of coolant hose that runs through a steel hard line when installing the CAI. Just pull the old hose and pipe off, replace it with the supplied hose and clamps. Then refill the radiator.
It's self draining when the hose is removed.

You won't lose that much coolant anyway. The hose you take off is quite high in the system. Also, make sure the coolant is cold. Do this first thing in the morning before you run the engine. Have the hose cut to about the proper length, put rags under the tubing loom and do the change over as quickly as you can and you'll lose very little coolant. In fact, I did an AEM intake install and just left the tubing loom in place and cushioned it in places where it rubbed on stuff. I left the coolant running through the stock loom.

just make ur your engine is cold... or your gonna get some coolent splash to ur eyes.
I just pulled off one hose, and put the other on quickly. Lost almost no coolant, but I did put a rag below so it didn't spill on anything sensitive just in case.
XViper, you left that stock metal contraption in place? If I recall correctly, didn't it get in the way of the intake pipe right at the throttle body? I like how clean it looks without that piece there.
