Caliper piston will not compress

Default Caliper piston will not compress

Any suggestions short of buying a new caliper?

crack the bleeder while youre trying to turn it in

in for this im having the exact same issue. except mine is with a reman caliper i put in a few months ago. i didnt do pads at the time so i didnt realize the problem then. i tried to put new pads on and realized the piston wouldnt go all the way in. the original caliper on the other side goes in fine. they are going to warranty my new one which ill change out on fri.


-cracked the bleeder didnt seem to change

Same here. Other side twisted right in without issue. I changed my pads 2 years ago and didn't have this issue..

Is it the front or rear? The rears go back in a turning motion.

Problem solved. I used a drill and a 1.5" flat wood bit (broke the tip off first) to spin it in. After God knows how many revolutions, it screwed in! Yay. Thx for the replies though!

i've had this issue for a while, i just used a C-clamp to press the piston in while i was turning it
