Cams for MY04
Hey, i was wondering if they have a set of camshafts and cam gears out for the 04 yet? Or will the old ones work on the new MY. If they do work, what are the best to go with? im looking for lots and lots of NA hp, so anything will help. Thanks very much

Lots of NA hp from an S2000? Isn't that some sort of oxymoron or something? On the pre-04s, I haven't seen anyone put down more than 240rwhp on an NA application. Even with the larger displacement of the 04s, I don't think it will be very easy to make much more than that.
But, I wish you the best of luck.
As far as I know, there are no cams available for the 04. You might contact Toda and see what they have to say about the matter.
Lots and lots of NA whp is going to take lots and lots of money and is probably not worth it. Not much hp per dollar there compared to FI.
I used to have a Miata and in the Miata world people were topping out at maybe 160whp out of a 1.8L. That's with cams, rebuilt lower end with higher compression, ported and polished head, TEC II or III standalone ECU, header, exhaust, ITB's and lots and lots of dyno time. Total cost? Like $5,000+. The cost of a supercharger kit to add 75whp? $3,750. 240 crank hp out of a 2.2L 4-banger is pretty impressive given it's completely streetable. Biggest gains would probably come from a stand alone ECU and some headwork. You'd be lucky to get 10-15whp out of an exhaust, header and intake for this car. Shows you just how much R&D Honda put into it. You can get 40-50whp from an RSX Type S motor with cams, intake, exhaust and ECU, but that car is $23,000.
FWIW, I believe Honda put in more aggressive cams in the '04 already.

If you were looking to get lots and lots of horsepower over stock, an S2000 wasn't the way to go.
You could drop about $1000 on a WRX and it'd be putting out 280 crank HP (about 60hp over stock)... for the same money, you could get, umm... a cat back exhaust that'll net you about, what, 8HP maybe.
Hardly worth it.
I think a supercharger is really your only option if you want more power from the S.

or two bottles of NAWWZ.
seriously though, this car (even the '04) is pretty high strung from the factory, you're not going to squeeze a hell of a lot more power out of it NA.
