They get oiled from the bottom, so naturally they'll look better. The cam cap you showed doesn't look good though.

They look okay but it’s hard to tell from photos. I didn’t take photos of mine (AP2 at 13k miles). But the wear pattern is similar and I was able to feel them with my finger nail. Polished by machine shop and all is still within specifications.

Looks not great, but O.K. for 140.000 KM. You could install them again or maybe let a shop polish them.
These camshaft bearings are located at the most distant point away from the oil pump in the engine. Therefore, these are the last bearings wich get properly oiled when you start the engine. To make things worse. aluminium is a lousy material for a bearing. To avoid this, allways let the engine idle a little bit before you drive away. Especially when the car was sitting for days. This is even mentioned in the owner manual !
And, so much for the "Oil film left that protetcs the engine at cold starts".

I guess I missed that part about the manual stating to idle things a bit. I am not much in a rush so perhaps I have been doing that anyway!

I wonder what kind of oil was used for the most part: Dino or Synthetic? I understand Dino does not leave much of a “film”.

Page 160 in my manual. Chapter "Starting the engine". No "real man" ever read this chapter, i guess.
There is a reason why i allways start the engine of my motorcycle and then take my time and put my helmet and gloves on before i drive away.
