Exclamation Can anyone help me diagnose this problem?

Started a few days ago. Already swapped out transmission fluid into MTF. Basically whenever I either disengage the clutch in first gear or move the shift knob towards first gear (On the way to first gear). I hear this weird grinding noise. I have a feeling it can be a throw out bearing but wanna try out maybe other options before I go under.

Other than that car runs fine, shifting could be a little smoother but it's not bad.

That is likely a bad pilot bearing. It has the signature bird chirping noise. I have experienced the exact problem a few times with client cars.

...and effort to replace pilot bearing, which is pressed into flywheel, is so significant that you basically should do complete new clutch job.

Use Honda disk, Honda bearings. Flywheel, good time to upgrade to light weight aftermarket (more responsive engine, faster shifts possible). PP, use stock Honda.

The man, the myth, the legend billman! Yes figured that I’m going to have to swap out the clutch, saving up some cash to eventually swap it out but would it be okay to drive temporary meanwhile I save up the cash? Another question, I’ve been looking at the SACHS clutch kit as it’s been making some noise on s2ks, what are your thoughts on it?
