Thumbs up Can i use a used flywheel?

I have an AP2 (heavy flywheel) and a friend of mine has an AP1 (lighter flywheel which does wonders if put into an AP2).

This friend is soon going to get an after market flywheel, would it be possible to get his used flywheel to put in my AP2?

Or is putting a used flywheel into a car a bad idea?

Yes you can do that no problem. It is the cheapest way to get a lighter flywheel in an AP2. I will be doing the same thing in mine when I change the clutch to get ready for FI later down the road.

As added piece of mind I would get the flywheel resurfaced just to have a fresh clean area to work with.

It usually costs less than $50. You can get this done at an automotive machine shop.
