Can oil drain plug be bad 107000
Just got my 2002 s2k a few weeks ago. Did all fluid changes and after it sits all night in the garage there is a puddle of motor oil the size of a hockey puck. I wrenched the drain plug another half turn. (yes i always buy new crush washers) checked OEM oil filter making sure it good and hand tight. Seems to be coming right from drain plug. Any advice????
Oil filter on s2000s should not be hand tight. The Honda OEM PCX s2000-specific filter (which is the only one you should use) says 7/8 rotation after gasket contact -- I don't care how much you lift bro, that's not happening by hand. There have been reports of hand-tightened oil filters spinning off and destroying motors after dumping all the oil.
Beyond that, check with a flashlight and find your source -- if it's leaking from the drain plug, you should be able to see a trail coming from it?

it seems odd that you could turn the oil drain plug 1/2 turn, that tells me it was either totally loose or it is stripped. It should torque down to 29 ft lbs, if it doesn't torque down then you will know that it is stripped.

Tightening something as crucial as the oil drain plug without a torque wrench is a bad idea.

Not sure I agree with this. Been hand tightening my filter for years with no issues. It was my understanding that the filter wrench was for removing the filter and not installing it. I've also seen mechanics hand tighten.
I mark the top of it with a paint pen after install and check it periodically to see if it moves. It never does.

I don't torque the filter but I like to use the 7/8th turn method (from the gasket contact point) using the markings Honda has on their oem filters, Honda designed that perfectly its a great system to use. I find the Honda oil filter wrench is a great help too, it works best despite being overpriced.
