Default Car almost stalls

Ok so car was idling funny and almost stalling when rpm went from driving range to idle. Took it into my mechanic for valve adjustment and he said all the valves were a little on the tight side. So now, the car sounds like a small diesel engine which i can only assume may be normal and it STILL almost stalls when the rpms drop... WTF is going on??? Any suggestions appreciated.

I'm having the same problem . . . I already changed out my MAP sensor, cleaned out my idle air controller and it's still doing it, but not as much as before

. . . next I'm going to clean the throttle body, and check the spark plugs

perhaps give this stuff a try?

Just saw the thread where the guy sprays the whole can of crap into the throttle body... Is this still considered safe? I actually thought a valve adjustment would solve all my problems... Silly me.

If your car sounds like a diesel engine you have more problems than the cars idle.

like what? the mechanic didnt say anything else about it.. Would you be able to see just by examining the valve train?

IF your mechanic did it while the engine was "HOT" it wouldve looked tight...and he would have made it worse (just FYI)

you need to let the engine cool down for at least a couple of hours before doing a valve adjustment. Have it redone.

He did that. It sat for a couple of hours before he even touched it. Im more worried about the semi-stalling issue more than the noise.. Not having the car for that long that may be a completly normal noise i am obsessing about. It hasnt lost power, no CEL, nothing...

it is more than likely your spark plugs. change them out or clean them.
