i would put a light on the vtec solenoid wire to make sure it is it indeed working, so since you said the car was warm i take it your temperature gauge is functioning correctly also? are there any engine modifcations on the car?

Header. TP, exhaust. all Comptech.

Will the solenoid always be "hot" when the car is running?

Definatly check your plugs. Do you have CEL? If so, get it pulled.

My buddy had this problem (however he had a mazda). Ended up 1 of his ignition coils were dead and 2 were going to hell.

Guess I could try a map wack.
+1.

I had a MAP connection issue a while back. When I got up into the high RPM range (above 6-7K), it felt like somebody threw out an anchor. The car just wouldn't accellerate... even in 2nd gear.

Give it a try... unplug it, clean the contacts if you can, plug it back in securely. Take her for a spin.

Is the car misfiring and/or running roughly in VTEC, or is it simply running out of power? The latter would be more likely to point to VTEC not engaging; If that's the case check the screen, and if it's clean, then check the VTEC valve and the oil pressure. If the car is running rough rather than just not making the power it should, then it's probably not related to VTEC (but of course, like everyone else, I'm just guessing).

I'd be a little concerned that the car might not have enough oil pressure to engage VTEC, so if it were me, I'd check the oil pressure ASAP.

Actually Ive been at a family thing (like not seen them in 10+ years) so I had to go....

Gonna do the suggested things above, plus I pm'd Chris and he's gave me a few pointers.

But you bastards talking about oil pressure and coil packs are scaring the ****ing shit out of me. I can't be having my car die on me. She's only got 56k on her.

Relax NVMY4N, it's probably just the MAP sensor. Even so, it could be something worse, so if it were me I'd want to nail it down before driving the car any more than was absolutely necessary. The only reason that I mentioned that it might be oil pressure is because if that should turn out to be the case you don't want to be driving the car. Better safe than sorry.
