Default this car is more trouble than its worth

A year and half of ownership and nothing but trouble. Replaced, hub, bearing, Axel due to shakes, 3 sets of rear tires. I'm meticulous about service Mobil 1 changes every 5k besides 2 to 3 qrts it burns. Now last night engine hesitated while just cruising at a mild 4k rpm at 55 mph then burning smell then check engine light then knock noise and blinking cel. Any ideas people? Checked oil a day before when I filled up it was at h. I stalled at stop light earlier in the day but drove like 30 miles parked for hour and then drove again when this happened. Had a tsx before this and drove the thing 100k miles without a problem just change oil breaks and tires and go. This S2k has been nothing but problems, just not worth it.

Do you have any modifications to your vehicle?
Are you the original owner? If not, do you have any service history? any accidents/collisions/modifications from the previous owner(s)? Are you sure all the repairs were done properly?
Do you abuse/race your car?

There are so many reasons why you could be having problems. Without knowing a detailed history no one can tell why you're having problems.

Regards,
Christopher

Well, you might have bad luck when you bought it.
I have owned mine almost 2years now.
I drive it everyday.
I have replaced oxygen sensor and map sensor once and every fluid, filter regularly, and tires. I put krank vents to prevent oil burning. mine is fine.
I think S2000 is very well made car.

burning smell followed by knocking noise followed by stall sounds really really bad.

Good luck ;( You got a lemon or the guy before you abused the crap out of it - I had mine for a year, put 10K+ HARD miles on her, and she still purrs except for a small hiccup now and then because she needs her valves adjusted.

2002 and all you had was a bearing?

F$#@$#@$#@$# honda for wearing out my rear tires.

The oil consumption says right there the car was badly abused.

This is flawless performance for ANY CAR, let alone an abused car. Crack open consumers digest car ratings and compare.

Probably not worth keeping this money pit. You never know what the previous owner did to it or what will fail next. Unfortunately the best advice I can give is sell it and buy one in good condition, there are plenty around.
