Default Car not pulling like it use too...

Hey,

I put on a post about a strange thing that occurred to the S. In brief, after putting my foot right down on the accelerator pedal, the car would take almost an eternity to react before shifting off. This was at any revs, and at any gear. Vtec was engaging correctly etc etc etc.

So I done a search to find out the cause and possible solution. I

Have you done a valve adjustment since you've owned the car? The high redline seems to whack this car out of adjustment sooner rather than later.

Have/do you reset the ECU? I find that resetting the ECU once a month or after engine work keeps the car feeling tighter and more responsive.

it could all just be in my head but I cant hurt your situation either

Ive reset the ecu a number of times over the last week or so to try and resove it, but nothing so far. It only seems to happen on full throttle, at all other times it drives perfectly well.

Just some more ideas...

1. Clean the air filter
2. Check tire pressure
3. Check throttle cable play

Sure you just didn't get some craptastic gasoline? Bargain Barney's primium fire fuel?

Almost sounds like your timing is off. Based on the fact your car has been acting inconsistently, it will make it very difficult to diagnose. It could be bad fuel, but also the new plugs could make the same scenario. Keep careful records of your fuel mileage as well, it may be of use later.

I've got the exact same problem but may car only has 3,800 miles, it's an 05'. I just got her 4 months ago. During hurricane Katrina I used about 5 gallons of crappy gas but that was 3 months ago. Could it still be affecting it??

Well that depends, sometimes in these situations they put all sorts of crap in the tanks to get rid of whatever nasties got in there. I read a thread on here recently where someones injectors got really clogged up after a similar "storm" incident.

And why do you chaps call is gas, that would imply its in a geseous state (gets flame suit on)
