Default Car Was Running Without Battery Connection....

I took the car out of winter storage and went for a short drive. The battery cables were connected when I left my garage, when I got home neither battery cable was connected to the battery terminals They obviously popped off during my 15 minute drive, the car ran perfectly fine though, including high rpm and highway driving conditions. I don't suppose you can harm anything when this happens ?

The potholes must be really bad in your area this year.

You should be okay. The battery is only there to start the car. After that, the engine can run on the alternator alone. Fix the terminal and be on your way.

Thanks for the replies. I reconnected the cables and took it for another drive. Everything seems to be running fine. I've got an LED instrument cluster, it isn't flickering so that should be a good sign as they are very sensitive to flickering if there would be a Diode issue. Cross my fingers.

Driving the roads in my region right now is like doing slalom, the potholes come at you so quick you have very little time to avoid them, I hate this time of the year.
