Default Car Shakes

Car shakes like the wheels are out of balance, ONLY between 40-70mph. Above 80 it slowly settles down. Its worse at 4500RPM. It doesn't do it if cruising. Only when accelerating. Throughout 1st, it doesnt do it.

What have I done lately: Engine and diff oil change. Cleaned Air filter. Had wheels balanced.

I put 5-30 by mistake and realized it after i put it in. Would that cause the shaking? Engine seems to rev smoothly

I have never replaced the battery. Cranks fine. Has a little trouble if I dont use the car for 2 or more weeks.

I thought it may be my wheels because I'm using run flats (I operated run flat on them). Jim @ tire rack said that the sidewalls may be deteriorating. I switched wheels to see if that was it. Shaking was still there.

HELP!

Thanks in advance!

UPDATE:

Just wanted to thank those for the support to just DIY, I sure am glad that I did it. Wasn't too bad, took 3.5 hrs .....

I didn't remove the entire half shaft, I didn't need a ball joint separator, no impact tools (which is my next investment). Also reused the OE boot clamps.

The crater is pretty deep .... I wanna say approx. 2 - 3 mm deep. Immediately when I drove the car, it was as smooth as butter! So glad I did it my self! Just saved me $200!

You are lowered right? Car is shaking because you've pitted your CV joints. The solution is to either swap the CV's from one side to the other or buy driveshaft spacers.

How many miles do you have?? How much did you lower your car? I'm going to contact SUPERTECH tonight to see what other options are available for this issue. I was texting him earlier and he said that I would have to change the CV joints.

you just have to swap the Inner portion of the joints from side to side....there is a DIY thread in around here somewhere, Look in the under the hood technical section

Spoke to SUPERTECH last night, he said to swap the CV joints. He's going to do mine for a fair price plus parts. Parts is like $12. I found the DIY for swapping the CV joints DIY section, but I would rather have a professional do it. It looks like it would take me 3/4 day to do the swap on my own.

If I purchase Spacers, I guess it would just push it further in the CV joint ...... I think ..... can any1 else chime in please?

I would like 1 more opinion before I make a decision.

$200 to swap CV joints vs. T1R driveshaft spacers @ $180 plus labor. I dont know if I want to do it my self.
