Cause for burnt valves
Tight exhaust valves after adjustment is a sure fire way to burn them.
I told b17jamln I have a mint head here for sale. I'm sure my UTH friends here will tell ya I would not steer you wrong

i did correspond with billman and i want to thank him for offering the head. As well as thank everyone else who've chimed in. I was able to pick up a 2004 head that I am hoping to slap on early this week by a different shop. I know it needs to be cleaned, etc, how difficult is this job? I am hoping that any decent shop should be able to handle this?

Well since the head is off, any chance of getting down there for some pics?
Misfire code can also mean there could be other things going on. Take pics of the cylinder walls and piston tops and valve seat side of the head. It will be tough to diagnose, but there may be some telltale indicators.

Don't just slap a new head on. It may solve your issues, but there may be other factors than just the damage to your head.
It hasn't been actually mentioned yet, but misfire codes are generally diagnosed by chasing down things like coil packs, injectors and ECU. A valve adjustment or even a new head may not resolve anything if these other things have never been checked out.
I'm the person to keep all the receipts for work done on my car.
Did you? That would prove they did a valve adjustment and gives you a good argument for the burned valves and to get some $$$ from them to get it fixed.
I don't know if a second opinion based on s2ki will make them pay, a second opinion from an official Honda dealership might.
Good luck
