I just had to remove one of the honey comb things from inside my cat. It broke loose and was just laying inside my cat. So I took it out and now, 3 days later I got a CEL. I read the blink code and came up with 6 long and 7 short. I looked up the code and came up with "Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold".......Does anyone know what this means???? I guess it is b/c i removed that piece. I did not gut the whole cat. Is there anyway to get around the CEL???? I heard about some kind of simulator for the 2nd o2 sensor If anyone knows anything about my problem or the simulator /where to get one it would be a big help!!!!!!!!
Thanks again Kenny

Here is a link to my first thread with the problem

- I have "HEARD" that the s2000 cat is "sensitive"
- you might as well gut the whole thing and get an o2 sim..

It came on because that piece that you took out belongs in the cat. It broke off and now the cat is not doing its job 100%. The secondary O2 sensor is reading that the mixture after the cat is not is spec and triggering the light to come on. Basically its telling you the car is polluting more than it should be.

If the car is under 8years 80k, the convertor is covered under the emissions warranty I believe.
