Default CEL Code

I have a solid CEL. I did the blink test and have the following code:

Long
Long
Short, Short.

This is 2-2, indicating that my VTEC solenoid is bad correct?

just want to be sure before ordering the part.

Thanks

Assuming the blink code is correct, it could be the wiring harness is loose or the filter screen is clogged or you have low oil level or the solenoid is bad.

Here is a picture of the switch. The brown plastic has cracked and chipped off (due to vandalism). The plug still plugs in fine, so why would this throw a code?

Your picture doesn't show.
You never mentioned that the part is damaged. Since it is damaged, I don't see why it's difficult to see why it may not be functioning properly. If it's not working, the ECU would not get the right signal.
