Default CEL Code PO135 (2006 s2000) Low Mileage

Like the title states, I started my car this morning it is a 2006 with a completely stock engine, never been modified etc with 40k kms ~25k miles. It worked completely fine last night but just came on during startup this morning. I got the code checked today and it was throwing the CEL code PO135 which is Oxygen O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1, Sensor 1).

Is replacing the 02 sensor the only way to fix this (which I assume is the pre-cat 02) or is there another issue? I know locally the dealer is asking $300 for the manifold 02 sensor, any other places to get a better deal on an OEM replacement or better? Also why would the 02 sensor fail so early in its life?

Thanks for any input and help.

i dont know if they have advance auto in canada but its way cheaper to buy it from there. or just buy it online. any denso brand will work. replace the sensor and clear the code. if it comes back on, look else where.

Same here. Bone stock 2007 S2K, 32k km. In my case, the cel first appeared immediately at a cold start.
Replaced the sensor... Problem solved. Dealer says it happens from time to time. 300 Euro for a new sensor. Ouch.

Yeah seems strange to me that it happened directly on cold start especially being so early on in its life expectancy. Good to hear that replacing it solved it, was hoping that it wasn't another issue that led to it.
