Cel codes help
I usually get the infamous p0410 secondary air injection system malfunction, then ones in a while ill get a system too rich error code maybe once every 2 weeks, now ive been getting, p0170 fuel trim malfunction (bank 1). what the heck does that mean and how can I fix all these? p0170 has been coming on with the p0410 error for 2 days now at a cold start/ warm up, it doesnt blink it just comes on. please help
Im also getting a loud whinning sound seems to come from the driver side engine bay sounds like a loose vacum line. could anyone tell me where the fuel pump is? also all i have is an intake well as i know off, i got the car used and the guy ran nitrous when he had it.
Actually the infamous code is P0411 Secondary Air Injection System Incorrect Flow. P0410 is an air pump circuit malfunction. Could be several things. P0170 is a "sympathy code" due to the circuit problem. Find a local member with a Helm manual. This is a pretty easy code to troubleshoot but thre is no one right answer. You need to go through te list of usual suspects noted in the manual.
Utah
P.S. The reason it does it only when it is cold/warming up is that this is when the secondary air system is active. The pulsed secondary air system inject extra air to combustion to minimize emissions during warm up.
