Default CEL- codes P0301, P0507, P1399, low compression

Figures that at 36,075miles I'd get a CEL. Got the codes pulled at Autozone and got these codes:

P0301 : Cylinder 1 misfire
P0507 : Idle control system rpm high
P1399 : misfire

1. Should this still be safe to drive slowly on for another day, maybe 20-30 miles? The CEL light is steady.

2. Anything I should do before bringing it into the dealership and hoping for a goodwill fix?

2004 S2000 with 36,075 miles. Never overreved, oil changes every 3K, seems to run fine.

At 75 miles, I'd think they would do you some justice, and some goodwill service. They'd be scum if they didn't.

I'd have to view the freeze data to see what happened first, the chicken or the egg. Steady CEL, you're safe to drive to the dealer. Pull over and shut it down right away if it should start flashing. Just not worth it.

I would NOT reset the ECU, as a good tech will make the most of those codes and the associated freeze data.

I bought the car at 16K miles about 9 months ago and have never overrevved the engine, though I do run it through VTEC.

Chance that the previous driver overrevved it, even though it ran fine the next 20K miles? Or it is more likely it's something more innocuous like a coil pack.

Fack- got off the phone with the dealer.

If I remember what they said- Cly 1 and 2 were at like 140 and 160, while 3 and 4 were at around 200. Not sure if they let it warm up, etc.

They're going to do a tear down on Tuesday- and decide whether it was some sort of wear or whether it was an overrev.

So I know for the last 20K miles, I didn't overrev the engine- it totally sucks that I may have to take it up the rear end.

Any tips or suggestions on what I should ask the dealership on Tuesday after they take a look? Make sure they did their due dilligence.

Great news- the tech attibuted the loss in compression to worn valve guides and seats- no signs of an overrev. Should get covered entirely

Would it be considered unusual to have loss of compression due to worn valve guides and seats at only 36,075 miles?

I think so- the tech mentioned some AP1s with the same problem but with higher mileage. Though I don't know how many AP2s have that much mileage on them.
