Cel P1129
hi, can anyone help me with this cell?
I have bought a brand new map sensor and tried a few of my friends map sensors.
But it does not fix the problem. I was told that this code was the map sensor.
What else could this be? any help would be greatly appreciated!

"MAP Sensor signal higher than expected"
did you put the o-ring in? Is it tight?
Fully warmed up engine at idle should output you 1.1V from MAP or less. Use a scan tool to get that reading. Maybe local parts store will let yo do it.
Good Luck

yea, i put the oring, a new one actually.
ok, i scanned it with the car fully warmed and it is reading pretty high, what would cause the signal to be higher than expected?
my scanner reads the code as "manufacturer control fuel air metering". is this the same as "map sensor higher than expected"?
thanks again for the help

Was that interpretation of code given to you by the scanner? I can't find that code in the Repair manual's list of codes for the s2000. It could be the generic equivalent of the too high voltage code.
How high are you reading? is it steady or fluctuating?
There are 2 voltages associated with MAP:
MAP sensor signal voltage,
MAP sensor circuit voltage.
You got the signal voltage error, make sure you're reading the right voltage on the scanner.
A real real good and easy thing to do is check the grounds associated with this sensor. I'm not sure where it is in particular, try tracing the wire harness.
Actually, it looks like all 3 wires are going to the ECM, so check the ground there, mounting bolts, etc.

i got that code on another car...manufacturer control fuel/air metering
it turned out to be an oxygen sensor ...i havent had any problems with my S ..so i wouldnt know
but maybe oxygen sensor? im sure others might know
