change full hub?

change full hub?
whats up..sorry if this a repost... 
I broke 1 stud from the rear wheel, and i want to do replace it...now..i dont know if i have to replace the whole hub or i can replace just the stud that is broke, i now that i have to replace the bearing thats for sure, my only question is about the hub thing.....any help aprecciate 
ps..i read the Rear Knuckle, Hub and Bearing Removal/Replacement...in the faq's but they change the whole hub..
