Default Changed out my O2 Sensor

Hey guys I've been reading a lot of debates on S2000 groups on facebook and here. Could someone tell me the difference between the green and blue O2 sensors? I've read the green cord O2 sensors are the revised versions versus the blue one is the previous version? I installed another blue one as the green one was more expensive and the one I got too is the exact OEM one. I also read that with my year the 2006 and up the O2 sensor can get a little finicky is this true?

i put in the cheaper sensor for my secondary sensor. Plugged in and seems to work fine. I read that only the plastic is different, but everything else plugged in. The cheaper one is for a 00-03 and the more expensive for the 04-05. Then the 06 drops in price, pretty annoying.

It's definitely strange because so far it's working just fine.

I replaced the front O2 sensor on my 2007 about 5 years ago. It kept throwing P0141 CEL codes. I used part number 36531-PZX-013 (green insulation). It was kinda $$$ (like $400) and a pain to install... BUT I've never gotten that error code, again.

________
The rear sensor (which is on the catalytic converter), is listed as part number 36532-PZX-004 (gray insulation). I also replaced that one, too. Since I was under the darn car. NOTE how the connectors are different (one male one female).

Oxygen sensors, the front one is the primary one, the rear is secondary. The primary o2 sensor is used to monitor air/fuel ratio and the ECU adjust to have the engine runs optimally. The secondary o2 sensor is there to just monitor the catalytic converter to see if it is working properly (for emission purposes). You really need to get the correct primary sensor for if you want your engine to function at its peak. A bad primary sensor can cause the engine to burn too much fuel, which in turn kills the catalytic converter, and lose hp, etc. Even though it has not thrown a code, o2 sensor do degrade over time with use. I replaced mine with a correct OEM one (primary) at 115k miles even though no engine code was thrown.

That makes sense. I just replaced mine with the same exact one and so far it has not lost power or loss any MPG.
