Default Changing the "break-in" oil

Hey guys,
My 2006 Rio Yellow has around 1500 miles on it! I'd like the change out the break in oil, but this forum is a mess as far as figuring out what to replace it with, and whether to replace it at all!! I've read the journals, I've done more searching, and I'm even more confused than I was to begin with!
Through my research I've found that the most numerous elements in used factory fill seem to be as follows:
All values are in ppm taken from VOAs/UOAs:
Taken from uoa on this site:
Mb ~ 750
Ca ~ 2000
P ~650
Zn ~839

Now the Valvoline Synpower Oil treatment has those elements in the following ppm according to :
http://theoildrop.server101.com/cgi/ultima...11;t=000297;p=1
Mb 2324
Ca 1050
P 1792
Zn 1740
It also seems to contain a lot of:
Mg 968
B 1046

Correct me if I am wrong, but If I were to add this additive to 5 qts of pure oil, that would reduce the ppm to about 1/10, so it would look something like this:
Mb 232
Ca 105
P 179
Zn 174
Mg 97
B 105

Comparing to the factory fill again:
Mb ~ 750
Ca ~ 2000
P ~650
Zn ~839
Mg very low
B very low

Again, someone correct me if I am wrong, but these numbers don't even seem close.... It's giving me major second thoughts about changing out the factory fill.
I plan on keeping this car forever.... so which do you think is better for the engine? Following honda's reccomendations and leaving the 'break in' oil in for 3750 miles OR changing it out with a good oil like Havoline GF-4 10W-30 and adding the Valvoline Synpower Oil Treatment?

Thanks!

Why are you so Hellbent on changing your oil so early? The previous cars didn't have the first oil change till 3750 miles if your car fell under the "sever" schedule. With your '06, Honda has put in this fancy new oil monitoring system that tells you when you should change your oil. Why are you second guessing? Just keep checking it to make sure it never gets too low.

The reason for me considering NOT following Honda's recommendation is things I've been reading on this forum. I keep reading recomendations that the first few oci's to be extra-short because of how dirty the break in oil gets during the first few thousand miles. It is possible that the engine will last longer if I do an early first oil change, and since I plan on keeping it forever, I want it to last as long as possible/do what is best for my engine wear-wise.

My '06 has 1450 miles and the maintenace minder says 80% oil life left. So I am looking at about 7k for an oil change -- just what the old "normal" schedule called for.

Listen to Xviper -- use the technology that Honda put on the car. Donate the money you would have wasted on an oil change to a good cause.

If you want to change it, then change it. you don't need any of us holding your hand through it if you're hellbent on changing it so early.

I'm not hellbent on doing anything, I'm just honestly asking for some advice.
I wasn't sure what the general consensus was on changing out the break-in oil; As I said; I thought there was quite a bit of controversy on the board concerning it; although now it looks like everyone thinks it's bad idea. Maybe this thread will clear up that controversey for others with the same notions.

I do appreciate every response! Thanks!

as an '06 owner, i am somewhat concerned leaving the factory fill in for an extended time/miles. i plan to change at 3000 miles +/-, regardless of what the Honda oil computer tells me.

this topic and breakin period are always a fire storm on any of the newer car website.

my engine breakin was aggressive but not abusive, therefore i feel i should change the oil whenever i feel like it.... which happens to be around 3000 miles.

I have about 4600 miles in 2 1/2 months, now my maintenance minder display 15% and my maintenance minder indicator light up everytime I turn the ignition switch to the ON (II) position. Personally, I'll wait until 5% (before 0%) to change engine oil by myself (I know the first time oil change is free from the dealer you bought the car, but I prefer DIY).
