Can somebody recommend what are some good products that i should use for the regular maintence fluids. My car is at 56k. the only thing i have changed since 42k miles are the oil changes. And also how much i need for each product.
Looking forward to changing the

I just got an 02 with 55,000 miles, and decided to change a bunch of stuff so I know everything is fresh. Changed the diff fluid with Amsoil 75w-110 Severe Gear oil (less than one quart). Honda MTF (almost 2 quarts)in the tranny. Honda brake fluid swapped in the brake system and the clutch system (couple bottles). Lubed the slave cylinder and shiftfork with High Temp Honda urea grease. Swapped the cooling system with fresh Honda coolant (2 jugs). Put in a new pcv valve the one in the car was pretty bad. Put in new NGK Iridium spark plugs, the stock plugs were toast after 55,000 miles, totally worn out. I'm running Amsoil 5w-40 100% synthetic formula in the crankcase with the Honda filter. The car had a new air filter and cabin filter so I didn't touch them. Ran a dose of Redline S1 fuel system treatment just now, best rated cleaner in the market. I did a valve clearance inspection and adjustment on it. Just had an alignment done at my Honda dealer, the alignment specs were real off so I'm glad that I got it done. The car now runs silky smooth, feels like a new car, you can notice a big difference in how it runs.

Oh yeah, shin itsu grease on the convertible seals, and lubed and tightened the roof top strikers as well.

For the crank case oil: I would recommend using 10W-30 engine oil. I'm being vague on purpose. Unless you're tracking the car, dinosaur oil will work just fine. Your car MIGHT be slower because your wallet is heavier, though...

For the diff: SAE90 or close GL5 oil. 80W-90 or 75W-90 will work...just make sure it's GL-5. Don't get oil with any LSD additive or anything like that. Just regular ass GL-5 or Synthetic GL-5. (0.83 quarts...so 1 qt..)

brakes/clutch: Use DOT3 or 4..whatever's recommended by your manual. If you're not tracking the car...it really doesn't matter which fluid you use.

For the crank case, diff, and brakes/clutch, just stay away from the REALLY REALLY REALLY cheap crappy stuff.

For the trans: Honda MTF. 2 quarts, IIRC.

Coolant may be a good idea at this point. The Honda stuff works well. It seems to have less of that weird...sludge..sand...stuff over a long period of time than the cheaper coolants do.

I also suggest changing the radiator fluid with Honda type II rad fluid. It is the blue colored one. I forgot which year they switched but mine came with the Type I which is the pink colored one. I flushed mine and replaced with type II. I read it's better.

My friend told me to use redline 90 mt for trann. He said it'll help stop 2nd gear popups. Is that true?

The redline MT90 is wayyy too thick for a Honda trans. I think the 90 stands for 90 weight.

Do not use.

Just stick with the Honda MTF2.

What is a 2nd gear pop up anyway? popping out of gear?

A car shouldn't pop out of gear with the stock recommended fluid. Why would you have to prevent that? If it pops out of gear, your trans probably has a bigger issue than old OEM fluid.
