check engine light is on... need help..
you will need to read the codes through a OBDII scantool. You can stop by a local autozone who will typically lend you one for about an hour or so if you leave your drivers lic or they could do it for you. The scantool retails for about $170 if you wanted to purchase it. It will then give you a set of code follwed by a display of what error messages are being sent out by the ECU. This is also a common practice with honda dealerships too. The scan tool does come with software for a laptop or pc and code explanations. Not a bad tool if you are a tuner...
sorry for the off topic, but how do you turn off the maintenance light? I've tried to have the key in the off position, hold the + putton and then turn the key to the on position. is that right????

Just make sure your gas cap is all the way down on the filler neck. Mine starts clicking after a 1/4 turn but it isn't really seated on the filler neck. If I keep turning it slowly it eventually gets past that area and screws down another couple of turns, then starts clicking again. Mine was throwing the light too. This is my second cap and now it is doing it again.
Take the car to the dealership, especially if you are under warrantee. It will take them less than five minutes to pull a code.
