I had to get a new one.... old one was shot.
But it does not necessarily mean that you have the same problem, get it looked at.

I had a clicking. Replaced and torqued axle nuts. Still there.

Replaced axles, click is gone.

It seems to be coming from the right axle. I have one ordered. Hopefully this will fix the problem. I'll post pics. Also, I'll make sure to check for wear on the inner cup on the old part and post pics of any damage. If it still clicks i could always replace the left side inner cup with the one from the old part from the right side. Did they change the material it was made out of on the later MY or was the problem alleviated by the geometry changes on the later suspension.

My clicking sounds like it changes every time, sometimes it comes from the left side or it'll come from the right side and I have a AP2 so I guess its not just on AP1's.

My car first did this in June 2008. Sounded like something rubbing - maybe brake pad or warped rotor. Finally took it to a shop and they found a TSB about greasing the spline.(Outboard end of left rear axle) Worked fine for 5 or 6 months. They greased it again in December 2008 using some marine grade lithium grease.

Tomorrow I take it back to them for the 2009 greasing. This time we will try a new nut.

Is there a permanant cure for this problem?

Anyone else have to do this every 5,000 - 6,000 miles?

Can some one put a picture of what needs to be torque. I have the same noise from the right side of the car, seems to be right under the driver side. i thought it was a relay at first. . I think it's the same problem everyone is having.
