Default clutch bleed question

i just got done reading this thread:

http://forums.s2kca.com/showthread.php?t=12154

I understand everything except the part about the syringe. I did one on my prelude and did not need a syringe to get the fluid out of the reservoir. Is this necessary and if so, if i suck too much out would it be bad?

I believe the syringe is just an attempt to take dirty fluid out of the top of the reservoir instead of pumping it through the entire system. So if you have solid particles at the bottom of the reservoir, I would recommend the syringe. If you can't tell if you have particles because the fluid is black, then I would recommend the syringe. If you are just doing some preventative maintenance and your fluid doesn't look that bad, you can probably skip this step.

If you need it, just head to your local grocery store and pick up a cheap turkey baster.

If you have a feed store nearby, or a farm/tractor supply store, you can find large syringes that work very well for this. They're inexpensive and are reusable for the same fluids. Farmers use these syringes to feed their animals medicines and supplements by mouth. They are much better for suction than a turkey baster.

One thing i really need to do that i didn't do when i bled the clutch is put some new grease on the slave cylinder ball that pushes the clutch throwout arm

Be sure to do that when you bleed your fluid with fresh stuff.
