The original clutch on your car was "broken in" when you did the break in for the engine. You can't go wrong to do it again the same way again. Some will tell you it's not necessary, but will it kill ya to take it easy for a few hundred miles?

The clutch buzz may or may not stop. The buzz is a function of the clutch springs and since you got an OEM disc, those springs will be the same. They'll just be newer and thus a bit stiffer. It is likely that as it ages and the springs get older, they will buzz again.

To your knowledge is there a disk that will eliminate the buzz forever?

Never reported here.. it is the gear lash in the transmission that gets them rattling and the late OEM disks are as good as it gets.

Break-in depends upon your driving.. it is the number of engagements, not miles you are looking for (at least a couple hundred of city miles is recommended).

I am also changing out the trans fluid. I got GM but the guy at the parts counter said there was no Friction modified type. Will the non friction modified be good or should I get a diferent kind? Thanks

The "parts guy" obviously knows nothing.
It is well documented here that the non-FM doesn't last very long at all and isn't as good as it was original touted to be. Even the FM has now been found to be short lived. Have you tried a Caddy dealer?

I had the same problem at a Buick/GM dealer... If you have the correct part #, they will then look "in the back", and find it...Since the one on the front counter "is the only one we have", I had to get the correct part # and make a 2nd trip to get it.
