Default Is clutch buzz normal after install?

About 7 months ago, I had an engine replaced by InlinePro on my 02 S2K. I figured that I should replace the clutch since it was at 55K...might as well. Anyhow, I went ahead and had one of there performance clutches installed and when I started driving it, the clutch buzz was and is quite loud. I also smelled a burning rubber smell when I would go in reverse. I asked them about it and they said that the buzz was normal for performance clutches. I currently need a new clutch plate, at the least right now because of slippage. I use this vehicle as a dailey driver and have been super cautious with it since I had the engine replaced. I've driven manual verhicles all my life and have never needed to replace the clutch at all.

So..two questions..

1. Is clutch buzz normal?
2. Without riding the clutch or ever letting anyone drive my car, how the heck do I have slippage?

Any help is much appreciated!

Thanks

It's weird because in the recall

https://www.s2ki.com/shared/library/...-054/index.htm

It only says to replace the clutch disc -- As if this was the problem to begin with. So im curious why you still have a clutch buzz.

What is your new clutch (brand)? That way we know to avoid it. Was your flywheel resurfaced? Are you sure the clutch was changed?

oyitzpreston -- You bleed your clutch for the slipping? Really? How bad does yours slip? Mine has gotten progressively worse since it started last week. I have to gradually increase in speed..and keep the same gear till about 6K rpm.

The Gent -- I went ahead and replaced the clutch and the flywheel...which maybe I shouldn't of. I hate this, but I'm not sure what the brand is...I moved and lsomehow lost the receipt. I purchased and had the work done at InlinePro though. At that time, they only had two types of clutch kits. Which I'm sure that they have the same ones currently, but they don't show the brand currently at the website.

This is odd, maybe someone with better knowledge could shyme in.

Good luck -- I don't think I would drive the car around with the burning clutch smell (it may be normal during break in but I don't know)

Honda figured out that the harmonics from the transmission vibrate the springs in the FD and therefore had it redesigned to reduce the noise... all OEM disks from late 2002 are of the new quieter design but most aftermarket FDs still use a more standard spring design that makes a lot of noise in the S2000.

Clutch buzz is what you get for buying "performance" clutch.
Remember, performance clutch might mean increased gripping but it does not necessarily mean longer life span.

The Competition clutch discs are known to make the same noise under decel the 00-01 disc made. You want it quieter swap in a 02 and later OEM disc.
