Clutch down, putting it into 1st gear
When i am on a flat surface I press down the clutch and put it in 1st gear. I feel the car or mechanical parts moving forward, with the clutch still fully pressed down.
Is this normal? Please adivse. Thanks. |
yep perfectly normal

Thanks! I am happy to hear this.
I thought something was wrong. Driving in each gear is excellent and redlines fine. 42k miles and running strong!!! later! |
uhhh, what?
|
well this happend to me when i had dirty brake fluid. i would put it in first and have the clutch in all the way but yet it would creep forward. after i start noticed this the gears started becoming hard to put in first 2nd and rev. and then one day i was driving and the car would not go in frist and i had to pull as hard as i could to get in second just to roll off, alot of traffic was behind me  i got it bled and put fresh fluid in and problem solved, it doesnt do it anymore. but i wouldnt call it normal because my car never did it and doesnt do it now

its fine, its a mechanical sound that you can usually hear over the motor when shifting into 1st or 1st to 2nd if you're quiet enough.
|
Noticed the same thing, good to hear.

well ya i hear a clunk ever now and then in the gearbox ya thats normal
And heat from the tranny to |
If I understand correctly (which so far I'm fairly sure I don't) it seems that the consensus in this thread is that with the car "at rest" on a "flat surface" that the car will start moving after simply shifting into first gear with the clutch pedal fully depressed?
I don't know, that definitely doesn't sound normal to me. |
Normal..
