Default Clutch Engagement

Im looking at buying a MY00 S2k with 80k miles. The car would shift into every single gear perfectly fine, however the clutch would catch kind of high...more towards the top. Is this a sign of the clutch going out or does the clutch engagement point just need to be adjusted?

Thats what it sounds like dude, my OEM clutch caught very high as well before I replaced it with my Comp stage4. I could hear a loud wine while the clutch was not engaged and the car was in neutral. Thats the pressure plate going bad. Hit up the forum/ebay for a new clutch dude, no biggy. That should give you an excuse for a more aggressive clutch (and maybe boost) rofl

its not my car, its a car that im thinking about buying. I heard its possible to adjust where the clutch engages at and thought that this would fix it. but, if the clutch is indeed on its way out i should probably stay away from the car since it would cost atleast 1k with parts and labor to replace.

That sounds normal to me. And yes, you can adjust where it catches.

It's a hydraulic clutch system, the pedal is no indication of clutch wear.

Yeah sounds like that's the clutch if it's engaging right at the top of pedal travel. It's not that bad with the clutch thing. Just shop around for a good $$. I managed to get the kit for
