Default clutch feel

does a new clutch feel like its kind of a worn clutch ? because i bought a used motor and it has very low mileage, basically brand new and the clutch feels kinda like it slips if i change gears quickly under a medium high load. I know i should be breaking it in dont worry i am. I am just wondering. Why exactly does the friction material need to be broken in too? im sure i could google this but why not just ask !!

pedal feel is absolutely great and if im in first gear and give it some gas it does not slip one bit even under a decent load.

how many miles on the clutch?

aftermarket clutch?

stock clutch?

these all will affect the feel of the engagement. the break in is different by manufacturer and sometimes depends on who you talk to.

aprox 200 miles on clutch, OEM honda clutch. Pedal/engagement is perfectly fine, its just when its under a moderate to high load that it feels like it dosent grab. It dosent have that clunk feel ya know, it just kinda eases the engagement. < this is only when i shift kinda quick and i am gassing it heavily lol.... Im not asking how to break in the clutch, just if its normal what i explained in my first post. thanks !!
ive only done it once simply because i was curious to see the feel and its kinda my way of checking things out while listening with my sonar.....lol sorry if this sounds confusing, its hard for me to convey what i know.

My best guess is that maybe your motor mounts or bushing are wore out. this would cause excess play/slop in the drive train and not give you that "pop" or "clunk" your looking for.

Also the oem clutch/pressure plate is not very aggresive at all. They are made for easy of driving. I would guess your clutch is fine. Just check ur bushings and motor mounts. Also look into a engine torque damper or differental color bushings. Those would stiffen up the drivetrain a little bit and give you the feeling your looking for.

Also, doesn't the S2000 have a CDV? I know that can make it feel less "grabby" and is supposed to prolong the drivetrain life.
