Clutch Fork/Slave Help
I just recently replaced my clutch and I'm putting everything back together. I'm struggling to put the clutch slave back on. I have it compressed all the way and I'm having a hard time getting the bolt holes to line up. Is the fork sticking out too far aft? I've tried to move it around, but it feels like it's clicked in correctly how it's sitting.
Any thoughts or ideas? Thanks in advance! https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.s2k...54f22a8e9e.jpg |
Remove the fork and try to click it in place again. You shouldn't have to struggle to get the slave on if the fork sits exactly where it needs to.

Fork looks like it's in the wrong spot, but I can't remember exactly. It should be a really easy fit if you compress the slave piston.
I screwed around with this for like 20 minutes the first time I had the slave off. Second time... no problem. |
I've done this twice. But, its difficult to remember exactly what it looks like. I do recall it was a bit fiddly to get the two slave mounting bolts installed while keeping it compressed. I seem to recall I ended up getting one bolt started and then resting, and then lining up the second bolt to start it. When I did this I was not replacing my clutch and I left the clutch fluid line connected to the slave if I remember correctly. I am just a home mechanic and I am not having fond memories of the job. :)

The piston pushes on the fork which makes getting it lined up a little tricky. Start with the slave bolt closest to the fork, then try to align the second one.
