When I'm disengaging the clutch the shift fork is releasing like it is supposed to. Correct me if I'm wrong but it wouldn't do this if the master or the slave cylinder was inop.

someone is giving you sound advice as to what the potential problem could be. yet you obviously haven't done what you need to do to be sure it is or isn't actually working the way it should.

my best suggestion at this point is to just let the dealership rip it apart and tell you what's wrong.

Trust me I'm listening to everything he is saying. He has way more knowledge than I do about the S2K. I agree with your suggestion 100% theres really nothing I can do now so it got towed and I'm waiting for them to call me, I'll let you know what they find!

Well, it would explain his symptoms. My clutch was actually "sticking" when I replaced it. It was at the wear limit and was binding on thermal heatup. If he melted the flywheel, there could be a mechanical interference between the clutch plate and the flywheel. Prove me wrong

You also might've pulled your release bearing apart. Just finished replacing my clutch / bearing because of the same problem / symptoms, except I hit the rev limiter and immediately couldn't shift easily into any gears.

I don't have to, your comments did that for you.

Do you realize how hot a flywheel would have to get before it melted? It can get hot spots and possibly crack, but its not going to melt.

Have you ever actually done a clutch job yourself and looked at how all the parts work together?

Intuitively it seems pretty hard to get a clutch hot enough to "weld" it to flywheel/pressure plate, but I have seen it happen. A guy drove a miata in 4th around an autox course, and slipped the clutch to keep the engine at the top of it's powerband (why he did this I have NO IDEA). But after the 50 or so seconds of the lap, the clutch would not disengage and later the mechanics said it was "welded" to the pressure plate.

It could be he melted the friction material on the clutch (if this is even possible) and it solidified on the pressure plate, sticking to two together.

Alright guys just got back from Honda (drumroll please)..... The clutch and flywheel were stuck together we had to use a pry bar to break them apart. The flywheel had hot spots all over it! Everything else is in perfect operating order. Ordered a Stage 3 Clutch and flywheel from Clutch Masters so I should have my car back tonight. It just sucks I got that 500 mile break in period now! Guys, I really appreciate all input and help!

I've heard of this kind of thing before, but not with an S2000.

Does the bonding of the flywheel to the clutch disk involve some kind of bonding material in the clutch or is metal actually melted?
Anybody???
