Default Clutch noise?

Hi my clutch started making a noise. It sounds kinda like a fan spinning really loud. The higher the speed and gear the louder it gets. My clutch is in good condition. Anyone know what it could be? I searched older posts and couldn't get a clear answer exept the clutch slipping...which I don't think is the problem. Plz help its very annoying and want to get it fixed before it become something serious. Thx.

No the sound is constant even with the clutch down or rolling in neutral

Do you hold the clutch in when you come to a complete stop, or shift to neutral, then brake? Could be your throwout bearing. Holding in the clutch excessively during stops can lead to premature throwout bearing wear.

If the throwout bearing is bad, it should make noise when the car is in neutral and you are off the clutch, but when you push the clutch pedal in the noise should go away.

Just the opposite, no? TO bearing is engaged only when clutch pedal is depressed.

If noise happens, in neutral... but goes away with clutch engaged ---> bad tranny bearings.

Check your propshaft to see if you have loosened a bolt and have one of those elongated washers making noise.

On most hydraulic systems (including the S2000), the throwout bearing is always spinning at engine speed. You put more pressure on it when you put your foot down. But its always spinninb.

OP...does the sound ONLY occur when you're moving?

Is the sound related to vehicle speed, wheel speed, or engine speed?

As in...does the sound change with RPM?

Or does the sound change with wheel speed?

Or does the sound only change if the car is actually moving?

Yes it only occurs when I'm moving....It gets louder when the speed increases...the rpm doesn't really affect it much
