A clutch cannot be tightened or adjusted.

If you have freeplay, you need a new clutch.

I am not guessing, it is a mechanical certainty.

Okay. But you confused me on the free play part. I thought pretty much all manual vehicles have free play at the top and bottom of the pedal range?

What's wrong with aftermarket clutch kits in general? And what makes them not last long?

That is one of the advantages of hydraulic operated versus cable or mechanical linkage. No adjustment needed.

Aftermarket clutch kits rely on friction to hold instead of clamping force, so they slip under high rpm.

The throwout bearings also fall apart in 20k miles, as if on cue.

The pilot bearings seize up prematurely.

They also have horrible clutch buzz.

Its all junk.

Understandable. That just makes me wonder.. What happens when you turbo your S? You just have to go through a crap ton of those aftermarket clutch kits? I read somewhere the OEM clutch can only handle 300 hp.

ACT pressure plate (modified oem part) for boost, up to 500hp. That and Mugen are the only ones I recommend.

All other parts oem.
