Default Clutch options

Hello guys. Looks like my clutch is on its way to death after trackday this weekens

Car is fully stock and I don't plan to sc or turbo. It's dd for me, and sometimes I'm wisiting track-days for fun.
As I've realised the best option is OEM Honda kit.

Just wanted to ask you - did someone tried Exedy OEM clutch Kit? It's much cheaper.
And looks like pressure plate in Exedy kit is the same as in OEM Honda kit? Is it true?

Also I've noticed there could be problems with Exedy throw out bearing. Could I use OEM Honda throw out bearing with Exedy clutch disc and Exedy pressure plate?

Thanks.

Yes you could, but the problem with those clutches is that they come as a kit. I say just buy a part or two at a time until you get the whole OEM kit.

PS the OEM manufacturer is F.C.C. and the disk is an Excedy, the throw out and pilot bearings are Honda, I don't know who makes them or if they're fabricated by Honda themselves. In any case the importance of the quality of the components are in this order, in my opinion.

1.)Release bearing
2.)Pilot bearing
3.)Clutch disk
4.)Pressure plate
5.)Flywheel

Many aftermarket pressure plates are simply the OEM unit with the pressure tab replaced at add more resistance. Some offer a whole line of them with interesting different names that just have heavier and heavier tabs. A cheap way to add slip resistance with the possibility of impacting thrust bearing life.

For any street car the OEN friction disk is the only good choice.

You misread what I said. F.C.C. makes the pressure plate. You can get the Exedy disk but you'll have to live with a very buzzy clutch disk. It's the relief springs, they're not rigidly mounted to the central hub, so they rattle. You could in theory fix it, but seriously for $110 just get an OEM disk.

I'd recommend replacing only the disc if you are doing the work yourself. If you are having it done by a shop and you don't plan on FI, get the complete OEM replacement since it is significantly cheaper than aftermarket. Going off what slowcrash and cdelena said, most of the aftermarket PPs are OEM with stiffer tabs. The only original PP upgrade I have seen is from the Exedy kit.
