Clutch Pedal Modification
(2003 S2000)
Not entirely sure what to call the issue that I'm having, but I'll try to describe it...
In order for the clutch to grab, I have to let the pedal out about six inches. I've never owned a manually driven car
before so I thought this might be the norm. But while watching a friend of mine driving his civic, I noticed he only
had to let off his clutch pedal less than half that, about two inches or so. With or without buying some sort of kit,
am I, and should I be able to modify it so the clutch grabs much closer to the floor? Preferably with my left heel still
touching the floor.
Thanks in advance, and excuse my ignorance if applicable... lol

Keep your clutch pedal where it's at. That's normal, but if you want to adjust it go under the footwell where the clutch pedal meets the master cylinder through the firewall and adjust it there.

I'm not sure what you mean by "grabbing high". For instance, I don't have to depress my clutch pedal very much for my clutch to engage, and I have to release my clutch pedal most of the way out for my clutch to disengage. Would this be considered grabbing high?
Huh. That seems counter intuitive to me. I would think that less pedal travel means there is less displacement required to make the disc contact which would mean a thicker and fuller disc. Would there be any noise or behavior that would go along with a worn out disc?

Trying to adjust for preferred pedal height is a bad idea.
If your clutch is grabbing high, you have a worn out disc plain and simple.

After about 100,000 miles these clutches start getting stiff and the engagement comes later in the pedal release. It's normal, it's called wear, even if you drive perfect and never abuse the clutch or transmission, they'll go about 100,000 before they start showing signs of wear. The smoother you drive the more you can milk it.
