Unhappy Clutch problems?

Dear all

I have had my S2 a month now and have noticed the clutch getting noisy. It is making a loud wurring/scraping noise which disapears when you depress the clutch. I only know about cable clutches and wondered if you could shed some light on the subject. I have a full warranty with the car and wondered if it would be worth taking it back or is it normal? I'd not noticed the sound when I bought the car.

They call it 'clutch buzz'. Just the springs in the clutch rattling around at certain rpms (i think ). It wont hurt your car...just noisy as hell

I need to change my clutch...after 4 years i'm sick of it the buzz.

Without a bit more info its a little too soon IMO to call it "clutch buzz: don't worrie about it"

When, under what circumstances, is the car making the noise?
During deceleration in 3rd or 4th, from 4k rpm down?
Then yes: clutch buzz and yes: harmless.

We need more info from you.

^^ Why do you call yourself "SpitfireS" do you have a Triumph Spitfire? I am eagerly waiting for the day when someone will put the F20 in a Triumph Spitfire.
anyway, sorry I totally jacked this thread.

I have the clutch buzz noise and would like to know how I can get ride of it. Or is it just a matter of buying a new clutch after 130k?

One has to have a nickname.....
I used to have this for avatar (that should explain it ) even as a guest but guests apparently can't have an avatar anymore.

Clutch buzz is only on decel, but if you hear a scraping/rattling marbles in a can/crazy whirring that gets worse with more throttle and only disappears when the clutch is in...it could be your input shaft bearing in your transmission.

When mine got extremely bad (it sounded like a chainsaw trying to cut steel balls), I replaced the tranny that had the 2nd gear grind fix and it went away.

There is some normal whirring though.
