Clutch problems
So while at The Dragon this weekend, on my last run on Saturday afternoon my clutch started acting up. At first it felt like there was no resistance in the clutch pedal and I couldn't get the car in gear. I pulled over and let it sit a bit. I got back in the car and it still felt mushy but I managed push it in and put it in 1st gear. I drove it like that back to the cabin and parked it. I tried to move it a few mins later and again there was no resistance in the clutch and occasionally it would stick all the way down and I would have to lift it with my foot. When the car is off, if feels fine and there is the normal resistance, but once I turn it on, there is no resistance and I can't get the car in gear. Billman took a look at it and was able to drive the car by pushing in the clutch and putting it in first with the car off, starting it, letting off the clutch (there was a horrible grinding noise) get it going and then rev matching it through the rest. I was planing to do that for the drive back home to Chicago Sunday morning, but as we were leaving the clutch pedal got stuck all the way up and wouldn't even let me put the car in first to get it going. I pushed down as hard as I could on it and it would not move. Luckly Billman was still there and he managed to bypass my clutch completely and my friend drove it back for me. So what do you guys think? I hope its just a bad master or slave cylinder. The clutch grabbed fine all the way home 600+ miles.
no, I can try that this weekend and see if it helps. We had no jack stands and very little time to actually diagnose it since we left early the next day and everyone was at the banquet. I didn't want to bother anyone and figured I could deal with it once I got home.
