clutch slip.
so last night i was following a friend and we were making a left turn from a stoplight. it turns green and he goes, so i punch it and take it up to about 6500 rpm. well when i shifted into second, the revs immediatly shot up to redline. so i shifted into 3rd. same thing. then came 4th, 5th, and then finally 6th. same story for all of the gears. i knew something wasnt right because my speedo said 32mph, while i was redlining in 6th. so i put the car in neutral and let the revs come down, and it was fine after that. well except for the foul clutch smell.
now heres my problem. every time i drive my car, and i get out. i smell my clutch. should i take it up to the dealership and have them look at it?? probably going to be needing a new clutch maybe. i also think that my clutch delay valve, which is still on my car, might be partly to blame. any ideas??

Sounds to me like you smoked your clutch. You can try removing your delay valve, but from the sounds of what you did to the clutch already its probably too late for it.

i had been wanting to remove the CDV for a while. just never had time to do it. i just dont get why it would slip THAT bad. ive heard people talk about slipping 1 gear, not all of them.

A left turn from a stoplight, 6,500 rpms, clutch slipping, clutch odor... ouch.
Try to think back, could you have been mashing the gas during you were engaging the clutch (lifting your foot off of the clutch pedal)?
After you get everything fixed, if you want the back to kick out while turning from a stop and not disintegrate your clutch, try mashing the gas after the clutch has engaged, not during.
Sorry for your loss, hope it wont require a complete clutch swap.

my friend took off. i originally didnt take off fast like he did. i was driving normal, so i let off the clutch way before i decided to catch up to him. i wasnt trying to get the back to kick out either. hopefully things will be ok. im just still confused on how and why it happened. it drove fine with no clutch slipping after i let the revs come down.

You fried your clutch alright.
At 6500 rpms, if you slipped your clutch because you didn't launch properly it doesn't matter how many upshifts you do....the clutch will still not engage. You will be reving as you basically float around because your clutch is being glazed over...
In that situation you have to get OFF the throttle completely... and let the RPM's drop. Downshift, then get totally off the clutch pedal.
Classic case of your hands moving faster than your feet.
You probably took a good 20K miles off your clutch.... and your CDV is only going to make the situation worse.
