How many miles do you have? Got good use out of that clutch....then again DC driving is all clutch work :boring1:

Unfortunately the previous owner got the use out of it, I only made it 4K miles

Whenever you read on this forum about someone whose original stock clutch lasted forever or is still going after 200k miles, it always seems to be an ap1 car.

Ap2's have been around now long enough to produce some high miles, but we haven't heard much about clutches lasting that long in thise cars.

I feel like its a combination of the heavier flywheel and cdv that causes increased wear on the clutch, such that ap2 typically wears out well before 100k.

If you replace with lighter flywheel and remove cdv, I expect a side benefit will be much longer clutch life.

My old 07 I bought at 70k and sold 140k and never touched the clutch. I highly doubt it was replaced before my ownership as well. That said my clutch set up is now AP1 fly wheel and no cdv.

The longevity of the clutch depends on good driving habits, ie no launching the car repeatedly, not riding the clutch, rev-matching on downshifts, not driving from a stop in anything but 1st gear. The rest is just keeping your clutch hydraulics in good shape.
