Default Clutch stiffens and pops when warm

Hi all,

Recently I have been experiencing this weird clutch issue. It seems like the clutch does not want to disengage. As I push the clutch pedal in, it feels like the pedal wants to get stuck at friction point (about halfway down). It only does this when car gets warmed up. Once pushed pass that sticky point, clutch makes a popping noise and disengage normally. Everything else operates normally. The car drives and shifts properly except this weird clutch issue.

I have recognized this issue since about a couple weeks ago. The clutch disc, flywheel, and pressure plate were replaced within 2,000 miles. I went with the ACT HD pressure plate, ACT Prolite flywheel, and stock clutch disk. I have also replaced the throwout bearing with a new OEM one. Clutch master cylinder was replaced with a new OEM one at the same time. The area where the release fork and the throwout bearing meet has been greased up well with ultra high temp grease.

I am trying to troubleshoot before I have my mechanic drops the tranny and see what's going on. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Inspect your slave where it sits in the release fork cup. If theres a little nub there it has to be ground down. Id inspect the clutch fork as well though sounds like its binding. It may not be inserted all the way or the pivot point isnt smooth. Hope you get it all resolved

I nicely polished + greased up the push rod that goes into the fork cup this afternoon. Still no luck.

It seems like the problem gets worse once the car/tranny is warmed up. Abou after 15 minutes from cold start.

Any ideas? Really don't want to drop the tranny :/

Make sure the rubber hose that goes to the slave is not kinked or damaged in any way .

Could be the master cylinder. Take a look at the adjustment rod and nut, make sure nothing has come loose and properly moving and engaging with proper free play, check for leaks. Absolutely make sure its not master or slave related before dropping the trans. IF you remove the clutch fork boot, you can get some view inside the trans/clutch area, but it is limited.

Rubber is fine. No cracks.

Took a look at the master cylinder. It's brand new however there was a drop of brake fluid coming out. Engagement point is right where it should be (about halfway). Slave cylinder leaked out just a little bit of fluid when I took it out and greased the push rod. No more than 6-7 drops. I couldn't push the piston of slave cyl back in all the way when I was putting everything back, so I opened the bleeder valve, pushed it right in, and re-bleed the clutch. Problem is still there, only when the car is hot.

And I couldn't really see anything inside the fork boot :/ Really don't wanna drop the tranny cause I just had a motor swap done few months ago.. I'm a broke ass college kid lol.

Watch out for the knock sensor as it will break really easy.

Update: Tranny is out. Clutch disc, pressure plate, flywheel all look perfectly fine. Not quite sure what is causing the sticking problem. Here are some pics:

Clutch Fork

Release Bearing

Release Bearing Guide

Planning to replace all those parts. Hopefully these will do the tricks. Don't really know what is causing the problem Parts were greased properly as you can see..
