clutchless shifting
lol, yea...Believe its called "floating the gears" I can do it in a 18 wheeler, could do it in my teg at perfect timing. I don't really want to try it in the s2k though...Non-Perfection doesn't sound good to my ears
Clutchless shifting is handy in a pinch, like when your clutch master or slave cylinder fails, or your clutch disc fuses to the flywheel or PP. I've driven my friend's cars home many times after some sort of clutch system failure.
If you're doing it right, and shifting at the right points so that it just clicks into gear without any grinding, then you really aren't putting any additional wear on the synchros.

It works because the trans has synchros. The synchro ring has to speed up or slow down the next gear to allow the sleeve to slide over to the next geat.
I have a 4runner with 375k on the tranny and I shift without the clutch every chance I get. The oil never, never shows any excessive material in it when I change it (ever 25k or so).
Those are big "If's"
If the RPM is matched between 2 gears
If you time changing gears at the exact right time.
If you leaned fast enough from doing it wrong before.
Use the Phucking clutch people.
I can tell none of you have ever seen what a beat synchro looks like from someone that does this all the time.
