Default Coasting/Enging braking noise

I just wanted to ask if anyone elses car would do this, and if its fine.

If I am in gear and let off of the gas all the way, after a few seconds, the exhaust or engine will make a noise/slight vibration that reminds me of driving over rumble strips.

It usually happens when I am in a higher gear for the speed when cruising around. For example, last night @ 40mph in 5th gear. I would let off the gas, and then give it 2-3 seconds, and then it would make the slight deep noise and a slight vibration.

So is that just one more of the sounds to get used to?

The rear diff fluid was just changed, old stuff was good, no metal crap in it. Transmission fluid looks good.

It would be useful for you to give details like year of car and rpm at which it does this. The earlier cars (and some of the later cars) have the typical clutch decel "buzz" as you engine brake from about 4500 rpm down to 2000 rpm. It's just a noise and has absolutely no adverse affects on the way the car operates.

Dang, I thought that my car year was under my name... guess not.

Either way, its an 01, it happens at low rpms, I would say 2-3k. I dont know if its the clutch buzz or not. It doesnt seem like the buzz since I think I can hear that happening when its more revved up.

......the exhaust or engine will make a noise/slight vibration that reminds me of driving over rumble strips.
Does that mean you feel it in the steering wheel and / or your seat?
Or is it just a way to describe a sound only?

For example, last night @ 40mph in 5th gear. I would let off the gas, and then give it 2-3 seconds, and then it would make the slight deep noise and a slight vibration.
A deep (exhaust?) noise @ that speed in that gear sounds normal to me.
Where do you feel the vibration?

If its all sound I would not worrie.
Its either like xviper said clutch buzz or normal sounds.

Its more of a way to describe the sound... I guess its not really vibrating. More just a deep tone coming from the exhaust.

So I guess its normal then. Thanks for putting up with the stupid questions, just wanna make sure its good since I do actually have a warranty period on it for repairs.
