Did you replace the coil packs w/ brand new coil packs? Seems like I saw a suggestion once that said switch the coil pack around to see if the problem followed it. Make sure you label the coil packs to the cyl # before you remove them so you know where it came from.

Also, did you reflash the ECU? Pull the fuse to the ECU for 60 seconds then replace it.

Does it come on at idle within a few minutes of starting the car?
As soon as you start the car?
Only after driving it around?

Comes on after driving the car a bit. My cars tuned to have the idle at around 1900-2000rpm at cold start. It jumps down and goes back up from time to time. When it starts to miss fire (sputter) the light comes on.

Does it come on at all if you start the car and let it idle? I'm starting to think that you had the same problem I had. I had misfires in cylinders 1 and 3. I checked the valve lash and it was .004 insteas of 9 to 10 thousanths on those two cylinders only. I adjusted the valves and the misfire disappeared. If you get misfires at high rpm I think it is more likely a fuel or spark issue.

I will have it checked out. It did show up a few times before after start up and letting it sit at idle.

Have you ruled out that the injector isn't just sticking closed? It's not a real misfire, but will trigger the same code, as there is no fuel going into the cylinder.

Will it sputter when it happens? It sputters and sounds like a STI for a few seconds then goes away then comes back. It's on/off. Have not been driving it lately either.
