Default Code p1259, still have vtec

I have thrown code p1259 twice now, which states VTEC system malfunction, but after clearing the code vtec continues working as it should. My oil level is full and my IAC was cleaned fairly recently, the sensor is still plugged in tightly. Bad solenoid maybe? Checked a couple other threads with this issue and theirs all lose vtec and/or limit their rpm with the code and I don't, so I don't know what's going on.
MY01 with 155,000 miles
Thanks in advance!

Sorry for the late reply, the wires are fine but there was oil getting into the plug, may have a bad o ring on my sensor or something of the sort.

You checked the wiring to the VTEC solenoid? Did you replace it with a new one?

Thanks!

It is the same wiring that was on it when I purchased the car, I don't believe it is aftermarket.

The wiring is intact? Not damaged? Connectors are tight?
