Thumbs up Coilover problem seeking advice

Hi, I was wondering if I could get some advice regarding my left rear coilover. I started lowering the car yesterday just to balance height from all four corners. In doing so, I could not lower the rear left side due to the fact that the body of the coilover would not spin. I released the lock at the bottom and left the top part lock the same. I also decided to uninstall the coilover just to see if I can twist without any weight from the car.

Apparently, the only thing that I can twist at the moment is just the springs itself. The body of the coilover would not spin at all. Has anyone ever had this problem? What can I do at this point?

Thanks,
Rod

It would help to know which CO's you have. Just spray penetrant and let it sit for a while then try again.

Sorry...it's the Apexi EXV's...So just lube it and let it sit for awhile? Would it be because of corrosion?

Thanks

could be corrosion or could be dirt on the threads.

If the top circular locks are on tight, would I be able to use this to spin the body of the coilover once lubricated enough?

Thanks again.

Instead of adjusting this yourself, I highly recommend you take your car to get corner balanced (and alignment). This will ensure that your ride height is truly even (takes into account your weight and even things like how much gas you have).

It was a night and day difference in handling after I had my car corner balanced and aligned.

Just so you know - if your gonna try to work it loose you rgoing to use a penetrant, not a lubricant. PB blaster wroks great on seized stuff.

Oh...thank you! I will try tonight. I did pick up a couple bottles of PB Blaster, and hope it would do the job.

Thank you.
