Default Coilover questions

I will be getting rims soon 18" and want to do suspension together with the wheels.
Have a few questions concerning upgrading suspension. BTW I drive pretty hard on teh street and I also auto-x.

Will coilovers help the car become less twitchy? As in rear end breaking loose.

Will coilovers help during winter driving as far as back end comming loose.

And finally does it make sense to raise the car during winter months to get more clearance on the ground so that you are not plwing snow with the fron of the car?

Thanks for the help guys.

i'm getting buddy clubs shortly.....

i was going to wait until after winter (march/april) as i didn't want to have them adjusted twice in a short time.

but, that was my plan as well.....

i was going to raise the car every winter when i put my snows on, and i was also going to have them "softened"....

i'll do the reverse (lower, firmed) when i put my summers on.

Has anybody here raised their car for winter? What were the affects to handling. How long does it take with coilovers? Thanks

Thanks for the reply. The car is going to driven daily in New York soon when I am in school. I'll be driving from Long Island into the city about 35 miles one way 4 days a week. I ask about rasing the car since ground clearance is very low on this car and with snow on the ground, it can prove to be a challange.

I've raised my s2000 1 inch for new york. I see slightly poorer handling but not too much, mostly around corners! Its very easy to raise and lower the car with the new coilovers just remember to re alighn the steering. I also have really good snow tires on my s2000 that will give a quattro a run for its money.

BTW the strut tower brace makes a big difference on cornering, Especially in NYC! definitly get it if you are raising the car 1 inch. Now my s2000 handles better then ever, you also might wanna try polyurathane bushings~ Jake
