CJB has been around awhile, he knows what a rebuild means. Or about 4 rebuilds.

He's also joking with you.

Draining coolant or oil is not required. On some CAI's a coolant hose must be replaced. This is why some reccomend draining the coolant.

I need torque...Hey thanks for the pics. I didnt know that, that whole damn thing was the intake, DAMN! Oh well... I guess the AEM cold air will be better and lighter...

I just saw that you have to drain the coolant and oil... Why?
The AEM instructions recommend you drain the coolant and oil slightly because when you remove the stock airbox, there are coolant and oil lines that run to the stock intake that you need to remove. When you remove these, the coolant line especially tends to leak a bit and although this isn't a huge deal ... if you want to be 100% safe you would drain some of the coolant out, remove the stock airbox, and then re-fill the coolant you remove after you finish installing the CAI.

There are NO oil lines that run through/near the stock airbox.

Stock S2000's don't have any external oil lines.

You would only lose about 100cc anyway. Put a rag under the line you disconnect. (The goofy things they tell you to do for such a simple job. )
